The world has certainly been waiting to see whether Meghan Markle, AKA Duchess of Sussex, was going to attend Wimbledon this year.
The Duchess surprised us all when she made her appearance, just in time for Serena Williams’ match. But it wasn’t just her rather unexpected arrival that left us in awe. On closer inspection, it seemed that Meghan chose to complete her outfit with a sweet nod to her son, baby Archie.
It only stands to reason that we’re always hoping to see little Archie with Meghan every time she goes out, yet there’s no denying that his absence on this occasion means the new mum can finally get some welcomed time off. Not to mention that all eyes would also be on the royal pair rather than the new mum and baby.
But just because Archie wasn’t presented, that doesn’t mean Meghan wasn’t thinking of him — and her outfit was the proof.
We’ve always admired the Duchess’ sense of style — the perfect combination between sophistication and modern glamour — and her outfit on this occasion was equally on-point. Smart and casual, Meghan opted for blue wash jeans, a black top, a white blazer and matching pumps.
Oh, let’s not forget about accessories — and that’s where it gets really interesting. In addition to a pair of cat eye-shaped sunnies and her engagement ring, Meghan chose to complete her outfit with a delicate gold necklace that holds a cute ‘A’ pendant on a dainty chain.
As to who gave Meghan the necklace — you can bet it was one of her celebrity friends, if not Serena herself. But whoever it was, this doesn’t change how much we hope to see baby Archie again, perhaps soon.
